特攻隊が飛び立つ基地に配属された元軍医。上官から命じられたのは出撃前の特攻隊員に“元気が出る”注射を打つことでした。戦後その注射が覚醒剤“ヒロポン”だと確信し、がく然とします。「注射がヒロポンとは知らなかったが情けないことに手を貸した」生涯、背負い続けた後悔と未来に託す願いとは…。さらに、元特攻隊員らが語る戦時中の状況―。８０年前の狂気に迫ります。
