Après "Belle & Sebastian" ou "The Flaming Lips", Air signe le cinquième volume des compilations "LateNightTales". Le duo, très actif ces temps-ci (il a composé l’album de Charlotte Gainsbourg, son nouveau disque est annoncé pour début 2007 et Jean-Benoît Dunckel sort ce mois-ci son premier exercice solo sous le pseudo de Darkel), choisit parmi ses artistes favoris et présente une sélection irréprochable avec Robert Wyatt, The Band, Cat Power, Minnie Riperton, Nino Rota ou Rave... 
Le tandem surprend, même en retenant The Cure (All Cats Are Grey) et Black Sabbath (Planet Caravan). Dans cette « all-time playlist », seuls manquent Pink Floyd et Serge Gainsbourg, deux influences pourtant essentielles de la musique cosmique et élégante des Français.
