Survival Book 1 :
Set in the UK in the immediate aftermath of a mysterious illness which swept the country and left millions dead, the series follows the trials facing a reluctant hero, Dan, and the group he forms around him. They must battle the elements, find sufficient supplies and equipment to survive, and protect themselves against the most destructive force on the planet: other people.
Banding together those he found along the way, he has to fight to keep them safe.
To keep them alive. To survive.
Note 1 : These are split and rebuilt lossessly from the 3 dual box set releases, they’re not available as stand alone audiobooks. M4acut to split, Chapter and Verse to rebuild and rename the chapters as they appear in the books. Due to how Chapter and Verse encodes the metadata you may or may not need the CUE file to switch chapters depending on what programme you’re using to play them.
Note 2 : Book 7, Andorra - The Leah Chronicles has been uploaded here as a stand alone M4b book but it was split into chapters. I used Chapter and Verse to build it back into one single file, renaming all chapters as they appear in the book in the process. Original ripper has been credited in the NFO.
Note 3 : The 3 dual box sets were obtained here, uploaded by Whackbag.
Note 4: Book 8 Piracy - The Leah Chronicles is on ABB as a stand alone book so I haven’t added it. I would recommend the MP3 copy uploaded by Goomer as the M4b uploaded isn’t a True Decrypt, has been encoded in Fraunhofer FDK AAC and sounds very tinny.
Note 5: Books 2, 4, 6 & 7 had the opening prologue for the next book in the series at the end of the audiobook. These have been removed and why the time difference will differ to the retail copies.
Note 6 : Itunes will incorrectly display files cut with m4acut as 16kbps. After reading up on some Itunes forums this seems to be down to m4acut removing a certain header Itunes uses to read the bitrate of a file, which makes Itunes read the bitrate from the very first segment of the file rather than the entire file. Windows displays the bitrate correctly if you check the file properties at 62kbps, same as True Decrypt rips. I loaded them up into inaudible also and inaudible calculates them at 63kbps, same as True Decrypt rips. I also double checked using VLC player and watched the statistics as the files streamed and they fluctuate around 63kbps which is correct as True Decrypts are VBR not CBR. They sound identical to the original files too. So to cut a long story short, regardless of Itunes saying otherwise, these files are lossless 63kbps conversions.
I’m not sure what I can do as of yet to get Itunes to display the correct bitrate tbh.
