The world governments and several civilian agencies have, so far, managed to keep the unimaginable from happening. They achieved it by keeping the outbreaks under control and preventing a global pandemic.

But even the best control measures seem to be falling short, as outbreaks become more frequent and larger in scale. Hundred percent of those infected with ImDED2 die. The problem is they don’t stay dead. The virus hijacks their bodies, turning them into insatiable, cannibalistic eating machines. Zombies.

Ryan Maxwell, a retired soldier, and his wife Victoria, a high school science teacher, have sacrificed for years to provide a good life for their family, but even the hardest working couple can run up against hard times.

However, a spur-of-the-moment purchase of a lottery ticket is about to change their lives forever. And possibly save them all.

Will the Maxwells be able to take advantage of their newfound wealth in time to form a buffer of safety between their family and friends and the possibility of a global zombie apocalypse? Is there enough money to buy safe passage in a world…after Z?

The ImDED2 virus had been a mere nuisance for a decade. World powers were at a loss for a cure, but managed to keep isolated outbreaks from becoming a global pandemic. Until New Year’s Day of the year 2020. Just after midnight, the immuno-degenerative and epidermal decomposition virus (strain 2) exploded worldwide, subsuming humanity in a tsunami of blood and terror.

Ryan Maxwell, and his family were fortunate enough to have the means to fully prepare for a possible doomsday and were able to ride out the initial chaotic months in relative comfort. Now, however, it’s time to search for family and friends whose status is unknown.

Family and friends were important before the end came, but how many will be still be alive after Z?

The ImDED2 virus has ravaged the world for over six months.

Ryan Maxwell and his family were fortunate enough to have the money to build the ultimate survival shelter and have weathered the zombie apocalypse in relative comfort.

Ryan and one of his best friends, Nick Jones, have led a group through the wastes of the American Midwest down to Dallas, Texas, where Ryan’s parents were found to be alive.

They’ve already made and lost new friends along the way so far.
