Описание: После успешного проекта online курсов, организованных Стэнфордским Университетом (США, Калифорния), один из авторов курсов, проф. Себастьян Трун (Sebastian Thrun) со сподвижниками организовали собственную компанию "Udacity" которая предоставляет возможность "получить качественное образование во всех точках мира" (почти цитата) от ведущих профессоров Стэнфордского Университета и Массачусетского технологического института.
Конкретно этот курс посвящен теме, благодаря которой прославился сам Себастьян Трун - созданию и программированию автономного робота (Себастьян выиграл DARPA Grand Challenge в 2005, в котором автономный автомобиль должен был пересечь пустыню и DARPA Urban Challange в 2007, в котором управляемый компьютером автомобиль должен был пройти путь в городских условиях). На основе его разработок ездят "гугломобили", управляемые компьютерами.
Курс построен из 6 уроков, в каждом из которых раскрывается один из алгоритмов, используемых при программировании автономного робота. В курсе присутствует большое количество практических заданий на языке программирования Python, но даются они маленькими порциями, так что даже у людей не сильно знакомых с программированием должно получаться их выполнять. Хотя некоторое базовое знание программирования и языка Питон не помешает (в соседней раздаче CS 101: Building a Search Engine даются основы языка Питон, так что для тех кто с ним не знаком, можно начать с этого курса, а продолжить программированием робота). Последний урок - финальный экзамен.
Для тех кто смотрел курсы, проводимые Стэнфордским университетом осенью 2011 года, этот курс очень похож на курс Artificial Intelligence [Stanford University Online Course] (10.10.2011 - 12.12.2011), лишь слегка дополненный материалом, но на этот раз с большим числом практических заданий.

Description: This class, taught by one of the foremost experts in AI, will teach you basic methods in Artificial Intelligence, including: probabilistic inference, computer vision, machine learning, and planning, all with a focus on robotics.
