Australian producer and recording engineer. He began his career as a musician in the 1960s, playing jazz and rock with bands such as The Showmen. Neal worked with the Australian composer Peter Sculthorpe to create the score for the 1968 movie The Age of Consent. He moved into advertising, and record engineering and production, in the 1970s, and then more extensively into scoring for movies in the 1980s, where his career has been focused ever since. He also established the recording studio The Living Room, Sydney
