Rather than release a double-CD concert document of the We Can't Dance tour, Genesis or some clever record executive decided to split the material into two separate releases. The first would be devoted to the band's pop singles, while the second would contain their longer, more progressive works. It's hard to get a sense of the dynamic of the concert this way: even the songs on each disc are shuffled around in their original order.
In any case, Volume One: The Shorts contains almost every Genesis single from 1983-1992.
The second CD, The Way We Walk Volume Two: The Longs, was compiled to appeal to older Genesis fans and contained more progressive material from their concerts. The band rarely strays from the studio versions of their material
