Orange Inc's Studio Mikan uses their proprietary MTPE AI tool Factory to perform the initial translation pass along with the typesetting. Then, a JLPT N2 human editor at the studio polishes the volume before they release it on the Emaqi app.

The rapid turnaround time and significantly-lower cost of this new AI-driven localization process enables timely releases with good enough translations, and allows for more obscure manga to get localized that would otherwise get ignored. But as a consequence, there are typically random QC issues throughout Emaqi-published volumes.

Page resolutions for Emaqi exclusives depend on the equivalent Japanese tankobans. They are identical to the lower-quality retail epubs, just with English text instead of Japanese.
