Green Roof Design 101 is the first course developed and presented Ьу Green Roofs for Healthy Cities (GRНC), а non-profit industry association dedicated to the development of the green roof industry. An interdisciplinary green roof industry committee directed the development of this course over the past 12 months and their invaluaЫe expertise and contribution to this course is recognized overleaf. We have managed to estaЫish а high degree of consensus over many of the key design principles for green roof infrastructure but much work needs to Ье done, particularly in regard to technical details surrounding areas such as vegetation, growing media and drainage.
The development of training courses for design and installation professionals is essential to the development of а healthy green roof industry. Green Roof Design 101 is the fust training course of GRНC's future Green Roof Accreditation Program. Green Roof Design 101 was launched at our second annual green roof conference in Portland, June 2004 and is now offered in cities across North America
