About the author:
Wife of Kent Courtney, they launched their Free Men Speak newspaper, which was renamed the Independent American. Kent Courtney traveled a great deal during this period to address right-wing groups around the country while his wife edited the newspaper. Later the Courtneys divorced, and Phoebe relocated to Littleton in Jefferson County, Colorado, where she continued to publish "Tax Fax" pamphlets that the couple had begun years earlier.
