Più di duemila anni fa la Cina era divisa in sette regni che si combattevano tra loro senza tregua portando le popolazioni allo stremo. Durante il periodo dei cosiddetti Stati Guerrieri, iI re di Qin era il più determinato tra i sovrani a conquistare tutta la Cina per diventarne il Primo Imperatore. Per questo numerosi killer, eroi solitari, avevano tentato nel tempo di colpirlo. Ma lui - che ne temeva sopratutto tre: Spada Spezzata, Neve che vola e Cielo - aveva promesso denaro e un\'udienza con lui a chiunque li avesse sconfitti. Un giorno arrivò al palazzo Senza Nome recando le armi leggendarie di tutti e tre. Su richiesta del sovrano raccontò come era riuscito a vincerli ma il re aveva una storia diversa che spiegava perchè Senza Nome fosse seduto al suo cospetto. Niente è come appare.

In feudal China, the King of Qin is waging a bloody campaign to conquer the entire land. He has been made a target of three dangerous assassins: spear-wielding Sky, and the lovers Broken Sword and Flying Snow. One day word comes that he has nothing left to fear; a prefect known only as Nameless has killed all three assassins. Nameless is called to the palace and asked to recount the tale of how he accomplished this amazing feat.
