Ibrahim Maalouf dévoile son 16ème album studio, « Les Trompettes de Michel-Ange ».
« Les Trompettes de Michel-Ange » est bien plus qu’un nouvel album : c’est la pierre angulaire d’un vaste projet pédagogique qui vise à terme à rendre accessible à tous l’instrument unique dont il joue depuis toujours, inventé par son père il y a plus d’un demi-siècle : la trompette à quart de ton.
« Symboliquement, cet album célèbre la transmission entre les générations, ainsi que l’amour, la famille et toutes ces valeurs universelles qui se perdent à notre époque », explique Ibrahim. « Pratiquement, c’est aussi l’occasion pour moi de réaliser le rêve de mon père de partager avec le monde sa géniale invention à travers des compositions fédératrices, festives et émotionnelles. »
Pour ce 16e album, Ibrahim a souhaité collaborer exclusivement avec des instrumentistes : de la star de la Nouvelle-Orléans Trombone Shorty au contrebassiste de jazz Endea Owens (Detroit), en passant par ses amis Toumani et Sidiki Diabaté, Matthieu Chedid et Golshifeth Farahani.
