Incognito est un groupe britannique d'acid jazz fondé en 1981 à Londres par Jean-Paul Maunick, alias Bluey, et Paul Tubbs Williams.
Leur premier album, Jazz Funk, sera le seul enregistré dans les années 1980.

À partir de 1991, le groupe va enregistrer pas moins de 22 albums, dont le dernier, Into You, est sorti en 2023.
Par ailleurs, Jean-Paul Maunick et Paul Tubbs sont connus pour avoir collaboré avec de nombreux artistes, à l'image de Galliano, Faïruz, KIO et Enrico Macias.

Beneath the Surface est sorti en 1996 sur le label Talkin' Loud Records.
L'album a atteint la 11e place du UK R&B Albums Chart.
L'album a été produit par le leader du groupe, Jean-Paul "Bluey" Maunick.
