*The Preacher* est l'album qu'Innes Sibun envisageait de produire depuis longtemps. Majoritairement instrumental, il explore une gamme de styles plus large que ses précédents albums blues-rock, en s'aventurant dans le gospel, le jazz et le funk. Marcus Malone rejoint Innes sur deux titres. Dix chansons originales de Sibun, accompagnées d'une reprise de "Sunny" de Bobby Hebb, montrent une influence notable de Curtis Mayfield et John Scofield. L'album est magnifiquement accompagné par ses musiciens dont on peut citer en priortié Charlie Jones et Clive Deamer.
