Dutch bandINTENTIONS was formed in January 2003 by Erik Kuipers (bass), Sanne te Meerman (guitar) and André de Vries (keyboards). The threesome wanted to create their own variety of sophisticated pop/rock, and right away started looking for a vocalist and a drummer that shared their visions as far as musical goals went.
Two years went by without any luck in finding anyone interested in a permanent tenure, but various drummers and vocalists managed to help out as the founding members started to flesh out and arrange their compositions in this period.
In 2005 they decided that it was time to start recording this material. A friend of Meerman, Theo van der Zee, agreed to do the drum parts for the album. The recording sessions started at the studio of Pieter Tjitsma towards the end of 2005.
Towards the end of 2006 a permanent solution in the vocalist department was found, in the shape of Roelof Beeftink. And he solved the drummer conundrum for the band as well, as he suggested that Petrick Glasbergen, who he had played with in his former band, might be a viable candidate. An experienced drummer and songwriter, Glasbergen seemed the perfect choice for Intentions, and he was readily welcomed into the band.
The recording sessions for the band's first effort ended in mid-2008, and in June 2009 the finished product was released as Place in Time.
