Il y a des décennies, toutes les étoiles et planètes habitables connues ont mystérieusement disparu, ainsi que tout ce qui se trouvait sur elles, laissant derrière elles un univers vide d'astéroïdes et de lunes sans vie où les seuls vestiges de l'humanité sont ceux qui étaient sur des stations spatiales ou des vaisseaux spatiaux au temps. Les approvisionnements diminuant progressivement et les infrastructures tombant en mauvais état, les survivants ont passé les années suivantes à chercher frénétiquement toute trace des ressources naturelles restantes. Jusqu'à présent, ils n'ont pas réussi...
Ensuite, une mystérieuse anomalie connue sous le nom d'océan de sang (c'est exactement ce que cela ressemble) a été découverte sur une lune autrement stérile. Ce n'est pas le premier océan de sang découvert depuis la disparition, mais les premiers scans montrent une collection d'emplacements anormaux potentiellement utiles dans une tranchée sous-marine profonde qui nécessitent une enquête plus approfondie.
Et vous êtes la sève malchanceuse qui doit enquêter, dans un sous-marin vieillissant bricolé à partir de pièces rouillées de la station spatiale.
Situé entièrement dans un sous-marin claustrophobe pour un seul homme surnommé le "Poumon d'acier", vous devez naviguer à l'aveuglette dans un océan de sang pour prendre des photos d'endroits clés, et espérer que ce qui vit en dessous ne vous trouvera pas.
Il n'y a qu'un seul hublot sur le sous-marin, et il doit être fermé en raison de la pression de profondeur, vous devez donc naviguer uniquement via une carte incomplète, des capteurs de proximité, du son et une caméra externe primitive qui peut être utilisée pour prendre les photos vous devez accomplir votre mission ou obtenir un visuel granuleux à basse résolution de ce qui se passe à l'extérieur.
Trouvez votre chemin vers les emplacements marqués, photographiez tout ce que vous y trouvez et essayez de terminer avant que le sous-marin ne s'effondre autour de vous... ou que vous ne soyez découvert par ce qui se cache dans le sang...
