The prodigious tenor saxist Ivo Perelman joins together with guitarist Joe
Morris for a handful of improvised duets on this recent release. Perelman
reaches the stratosphere in altissimo’d altissimos on “Invisible Mass” while
brooding in blue with Morris’ strums on “Gravitational Pull”. The two create
dots and dashes on “Elliptical Time” and exchange punches like middleweights
during “Cosmic Ray Music”. The two get bopping on “Palpable Energy” before
Perelman starts squeaking out of the theme. The tunes last between 7-15
minutes, with the tunes having the foundation of an elevator shaft.
