This was the second most popular film at the British box office in 1952.

Inspired by the true story of the work of conservationist Mervyn Cowie, and set in East Africa, the film is about a game warden called Bob Payton. He is horrified by the destruction of wild animals by ivory hunters so he establishes a wildlife sanctuary. He is attacked by wild animals and must contend with a villainous ivory poacher.
