Madchester was an alternative rock genre that developed in Manchester, England, towards the end of the 1980s and into the early 1990s. The music that emerged from the scene mixed indie rock, psychedelic rock and dance music. Artists associated with the scene included The Stone Roses, the Happy Mondays, the Inspiral Carpets, 808 State, James, The Charlatans, A Guy Called Gerald and other notable bands. At that time, The Haçienda nightclub was a major catalyst for the distinctive musical ethos in the city that was called the Second Summer of Love..............
This is a collection of songs from the so called baggy or Madchester genre. I was a bit young at the time most these came out so its a collection of my favourites that were introduced to me by people from that generation.
if anyone wants to upload a volume 2 of any songs i missed out on here i would appreciate it as i dont know every song or artist!
to any die hards im sorry if i included anything that should not be classed in the genre, its a pretty loose genre anyway, i dont think the stone roses liked the tag themselves for example...
This is my first effort so some feedback would be good. My connection is bad and the moment so please seed after downloading.
im not arsed typing out a list of whats on it if ive done this correctly a list should appear when you click download
enjoy
in the words of Bobby Gillespie
