Avec ce double album live, le groupe d’Aylesbury boucle sa trilogie digitale consacrée au « Marillion Weekend At Centreparks 2011 » en Hollande, faisant ainsi suite au très bon « Holidays In Eden Live » et au plus mitigé « A-Z live« ,
également chroniqués dans ces pages.
La désormais traditionnelle convention annuelle qui s’étend sur la bagatelle de trois jours (avec trois concerts aux set-lists bien distinctes) est, on s’en doute, un moment particulièrement généreux et chaleureux, très attendu par le public des fidèles. C’est pourquoi Steve Rothery et sa bande s’appliquent à éditer et immortaliser l’intégrale de ces prestations live en les déclinant sur plusieurs supports, afin de faire profiter un tant soit peu de ces soirées privilégiées au reste de leurs fans à travers le monde.
Pour cette soirée du dimanche, Marillion propose comme à son habitude une nouvelle formule interactive de spectacle en soumettant des titres de son répertoire au vote du public. L’audience a ainsi le choix entre deux morceaux choisis et annoncés à haute voix par le groupe au fil d’un concert participatif (le jeu étant animé par le trio Hogarth/Trevawas/Kelly, les deux autres membres du club des cinq restant comme toujours un peu en retrait), et le gagnant est sélectionné en fonction d’un très approximatif applaudimètre, au bon vouloir du « jury ». En effet, le public s’étaient pourtant bien davantage égosillé pour entendre « Estonia », rejeté au profit d' »Out Of This World », magnifique pièce dans la même veine atmosphérique avec laquelle il n’aura, heureusement, rien perdu au change.
