4. prepared chime bars, Chinese drum, 2 Sonor bass drums, Thai gongs, Korean shaman gong, fu in luo (Peking opera gong) and Paiste Sound Creation gongs
5. Thai gongs, hi-hat, bass drum, Moroccan bendir, and a 22 inch (very funky) old Ziljian cymbal
6. 2 Wuhan (China) wind gongs played with superballs
7. chime bars, 2 Sonor bass drums, and floor tom

The catalyst for this recording was Dusan Bogdanovic's "Keys to Talk By" on which percussionist Mark Nauseef performed and first experienced the sonic warmth of the Harmony Hall in Matsumoto, Japan. On this solo percussion recording, Mark "excites" the space with numerous percussion instruments, including the very low pitched "Chime Bars" designed by enigmatic composer and pedagogue, Carl Orff and exotic wind gongs from China. Some of the most melodious, yet dynamic percussion music you'll ever hear; an audiophile favorite.
