... And Justice for All is the first full blown release from Metallica with new man Jason Newsted. After recording an EP of covers, The $5.98 EP - Garage Days, the mighty Metallica focused on their next project. The extensive song writing resulted in a set of nine lengthy cuts, seven of which clock-in at over six-minutes of raging fury.

The synergy on display throughout this hard hitting disc is awesome. The Bay Area bashers are as confident as ever as they let loose in the studio and delivered with authority. Lars Ulrich's unique drum sound is up front and hard hitting, while layers of heavy riffs are buried deep in the mix of this heavy opus. It's an all-out assault of heaviness as the group hammers away on over an hours worth of kick ass, meaty material.

The album's signature track, "One", became a commercial success, pushed to the hilt with relentless airing of the dark, black 'n' white video, that was released to promote the song. However, the real flagship monster cuts from this effort are "Blackened", "The Frayed Ends of Sanity", "Eye of The Beholder", and the title track. Major credit goes out to Flemming Rasmussen, who produced this recording, along with the band.

With ... And Justice for All Metallica set out to prove that they owned the metal universe... and the were not to be denied. The massive world tour was as highly acclaimed as the release, although the band eventually grew tired of playing several songs from ...And Justice live, due to the intricate song structures, and the concentration level required to reproduce the songs in the concert setting.

With each playing of ... And Justice for All, something new jumps out and catches your attention. This is a monumental disc from the Metalli-boys!
