No other musician today has so completely dominated jazz and captured the imagination of an immense following as has
Miles Davis. This totally uncompromising artist has scaled one plateau after another in his illustrious and pioneering career.
One of his earlier achievements was the Prestige album "Bags' Groove," from which the four tracks on side two of this
package are derived. " 'Round Midnight" as performed here was recorded at the session which produced the "Relaxin' "
album but was never previously released on a Miles Davis Quintet album. Miles has always been in the vanguard,
consistently making waves when it might have been more commercially advisable to tread water. His daring has resulted
in unparalleled longevity as a jazz star, and the younger generation of his followers will welcome this opportunity to
delve into his lustrous musical past.
