Ce coffret richement illustré et soigneusement organisé est un merveilleux témoignage
d'un bref passage dans le temps au début des années 1980, lorsque Mother Gong, le projet basé
autour de Gilli Smyth et de son partenaire Harry Williamson, a présenté sa propre vision unique de
l'ambiance Gong sous la forme d'une trilogie d'albums 'Robot Woman'. Je me souviens avoir récupéré
les trois albums à la fin des années 80 alors qu'ils semblaient surgir, neufs, avec des coins découpés dans
diverses poubelles à bonnes affaires en vinyle. En fait, c'est la première apparition de l'un d'entre eux
sur CD, édité par Madfish, une filiale de Snapper, responsable à la fois du coffret de Steve Hillage
et de ceux à venir de Gong et Caravan. Ce coffret comprend les 3 albums, soigneusement remasterisés
et augmentés d'un quatrième, contenant une série de titres bonus qui ajoutent
un contexte musical et historique à l'ensemble du projet.
