Classify under the Glam Girls Hall of Fame…..Mother Trucker are fine examples of Tuff Glam Crunch-a-rama in Punchin’ Judy mode with extra horn(s). Signed by the US branch of Ember by John Madara, Mother Trucker was an all-girl UK outfit supposedly with a background in road haulage (yeah right…).The songs are Glam Rock with pretty good vocals to back them up, electric guitars and horns add for a great mix…. 'Propeller Love’ is the standout track. About half the LP is good-to-great stompin’ glam-tinged rock; the rest pulls in too many directions, and the band is often drowned out by the horns. Musically the album is a mix of pop, soft and glam rock with what in all honesty can only be described as somewhat dated innuendo laden lyrics - all in all though it’s actually quite fun….. Whatever the line-up Mother Trucker can handle my logistics any day!….
