Iria: Zeiram the Animation (イ・リ・ア ゼイラム ジ アニメーション), is a six-episode original video animation (OVA) anime series produced by Ashi Productions and directed by Tetsurō Amino. The series serves as a prequel to the original live-action film Zeiram, taking place several years earlier when the female bounty hunter protagonist Iria is still a rookie and detailing the events surrounding her first encounter with the unstoppable Zeiram.



This is a remux of the 2023 US Blu-ray by Discotek. Included with this Blu-ray is a brand new scan of the 35mm prints, which is the first time this series has ever been presented in HD. Also included is the original English dub by Central Park Media, along with a few bonus features.



Much like Discotek's other "vault" releases, this comes from a new film scan commissioned from Tokyo Laboratory (RIP). As such this is the highest quality release of this series that has ever been produced. Included are some bonus features that are mostly from prior releases. Unfortunately none of the galleries are included. Sorry.



Given this is a remux, no extra encoding was performed to preserve the disc's quality. The video is the original H.264 encoded present on the original disc, and is a 1080p video with a pillarboxed 4:3 picture. Included is both the original Japanese and English dub tracks in 2.0 stereo PCM. The bonus features include PCM and AC-3 audio. The subtitles are also directly ripped from the disc.
