The concert took place on May 13, 1985, at London's Camden Palace. This was the band's original lineup's performance—after the "Naz Orchestra" period (with Billy Rankin and John Locke), Nazareth returned to a quartet format for the first time.
The show didn't go as planned right away: due to technical difficulties, the band didn't take the stage until after midnight. The audience and the musicians themselves were a little disappointed, but listening to the recording, you wouldn't feel it—the energy was excellent. Dan McCafferty's voice resonates—he has a full range. Manny doesn't play note for note as he does in the studio: there are extra phrases, slightly longer or differently constructed sequences. This is especially audible in the live version of "Razamanaz." The well-coordinated work of the rhythm section (Pete Agnew and Darrell Swift) is also worth noting.
The concert was initially broadcast on British TV under the same title—"Live From London." A home video release was later released, and in the early 2000s, Sanctuary reissued the recording on DVD. The audio version has appeared in various formats: first, pirated and gray-market releases appeared, followed by official editions, including a double vinyl from the Back On Black label (2020)
