This is Steve Albini's original mix of "In Utero". "Heart-Shaped Box" and "All Apologies" were later remixed for the final album. "Pennyroyal Tea" is also remixed on the "Wal-Mart" version of the album, as well as the "Greatest Hits" CD. The additional 4 tracks recorded during the sessions are included here as bonus tracks. The sound quality on these tracks is much better than the "With The Lights Out" box. All of these tracks have been bootlegged in very poor quality as "In Utero Demos" and "In Utero Unmixed" among other things.

The source for the Albini mix is the remastered German Universal LP, catalog # 424-536-1. It was transferred with an AT-440ML stylus into a Philips standalone CD Recorder and ripped to WAV with EAC. CoolEditPro was used for editing and mastering. EQ and volume were slightly adjusted. Pops and clicks were removed by hand. There was no other processing of any kind.
