Francesca is een kinderarts en is getrouwd met een dokter; Pedro. Als de geboorte van haar nieuwe kind volgt, begint ze last te krijgen van een postnatale

depressie. Ze volgt het advies van vriend en psychiater Jean en verhuist met haar man naar een nieuw huis in een andere stad. Pedro en Jean proberen haar te

helpen, maar het lijkt erop dat ze helemaal door begint te draaien en om het nog erger te maken; ze begint dingen te zien en te horen. Mysterieuze gedaantes en

geestachtige schaduwen beginnen haar te kwellen. Het lijkt erop dat het huis waarin ze wonen, een duister geheim met zich meedraagt. De kelder en de zolder

zitten op slot en het lijkt erop dat de kwelgeesten die Francesca langzaam gek maken, hier vandaan komen...
