The origins of DIAS DE BLUES stem from another Uruguayan psychedelic band, OPUS ALFA, where all of the true trio have been playing since 1971. The OPUS ALFA Quintet, consisting of Jorge Barral, Daniel Bertolone, Jorge Graaf, vocalist Jesus Figueroa and keyboardist Atiliano Losada, released an eponymous album in early 1972 to moderate success. It was especially disappointing that this happened after the sensational single (Casa de huespedes) a year earlier. Dissatisfied with these results, Figueroa left the group and began a solo career. After parting ways with two members of the band, our heroes decided to change their name to DIAS DE BLUES
