[Orphan] Shin Takarajima (DVD)

A new version of Tezuka Osamu's 1965 TV special Shin Takarajima (New Treasure Island). Orphan's original release was based on a web rip. This new version is based on the R2J DVD. It offers improved video quality - crisper lines, better contrast - at the cost of a five-fold increase in size. The subtitles remain the same, except for minor changes. It still includes Tezuka’s trademarks: good action scenes, the occasional anachronism, and laugh-out-loud slapstick gags.



Original subtitles. Anamorphic DVD encode. It should play at 720x540; mpv and VLC both work correctly. See this blog entry for more details.

The original release remains viable, but if you've never seen Shin Takarajima, give this version a try.
