Chris (Charlie Sheen) is newcomer to an American battalion, in the midst of the Vietnam War a young recruit. Idealistic, Chris was a volunteer to fight in the war because he believes that should defend their country, as did his grandfather and father in previous wars. But gradually, with the coexistence of other recruits and officers who surround him, he loses his innocence and begins to try to close all the violence and madness of a senseless carnage.
