Доп. информация: Самая тяжелая панк-группа в мире родом из Портлэнда, Орегон. Тяжелая не столько благодаря музыке, сколько благодаря весу музыкантов, по-крайней мере трое из них явно зашкаливают за центнер. Вокалист Jerry А. явно постарался, чтобы подобрать достойных коллег, в первую очередь — гитариста Tom Roberts, который впоследствии переименовал себя в Pig Champion плюс Chris Tense — бас и Dean Johnson – барабаны. В 1987 году возник стабильный барабанщик Steve ‘Thee Slayer Hippy’ Sanford, еще один гитарист Eric ‘Vegetable’ Olsen, уже не столь стабильный и басист Mondo.
Ранние образцы деятельности Poison Idea — суровый и достаточно бестолковый хардкор, который должен понравиться по определению всем поклонникам этого жанра. Но с каждым годом музыка становилась все солиднее песни все разборчивей и мелодичней — группа превращалась в более традиционную панк-банду не теряя своей энергетики.
1989 год принес нового басиста — Myrtle Tickner, с которым группа вволю поиздевалась над политически корректным панком Ian МасКауе’ем (см, Fugazi, Minor Threat) на одноименном мини-альбоме 1989 год — Myrtle Tickner заменил Vegetable.
Среди альбомов Poison Idea не мешает отметить ‘Pajama Party’ — сборку ковер-версий, надерганных в основном со сборников и мини-альбомов, а также сходный по концепции диск, записанный совместно с Jeff Dahl, где тяжеловесная корпорация отыграла пару ковер-версий Stiv Bators (Dead Boys) и песни обеих “акционерских сторон”.
В 1993 году группа распалась после того, как Tense и Johnson собрали проект Apartment 36. Jerry A. со своей женой May Day Del Castro (бас вокал) и барабанщиком S&M Henry сделали бандочку Gift и выпустили альбом. Но в 1996 году Jerry А. и Champion возродили Poisone Idea, записав ‘Pig’s Last Stand’.
