This is it. If you've ever wondered how to produce a professional, huge sounding Electronic Dance Music track from the beginning, all your questions will now be answered. Chart topping remixer Timothy Allan is back yet again, this time creating an authentic EDM track using nothing but the new Logic Pro X. Although shown in Logic, you can apply the theories and techniques to any DAW or genre. With the included Logic Pro X session files and over 7 hours of video tutorials, this is the most comprehensive Logic Pro X production series available.
Tim starts with an introduction to the series and plays a section of the finished track so you can hear where you'll be ending up. Then he dives right in, using Ultrabeat to create the rhythm foundation for the song, then lays out the chord structure and accents. The all important baseline is next, and Tim explains how to craft one that propels the track forward and also shows how to compress it for that classic pumping EDM sound.
Using the new "Track Stacks" feature in Logic Pro X, Tim serves up giant layered synth tracks for the song, then develops the drum tracks further and adds fills to the different sections. Melody and Pads via the new "Retro Synth" are next on the list and Tim goes in-depth here, explaining further the important elements that make up a world-class EDM track.
Honing and tweaking the arrangement are now shown, and Tim really demonstrates how to fine tune the song's structure and overall sound using many different tools such as automation, compression, reverb, EQ, multi-band compression and much, much more.
