2089. Elizabeth Shaw (Noomi Rapace) and Charlie Holloway (Logan Marshall-Green) are explorers who find the same painting in various caves on Earth. Based on this, they develop a theory in which painting points to a specific place in the universe that would have some relation to the beginning of life on the planet. The duo convinces a millionaire, Peter Weyland (Guy Pearce), to play an expensive interstellar expedition to investigate the subject. In this way, Elizabeth and Charlie enter the crew of the Prometheus spacecraft, consisting of robot David (Michael Fassbender), director Meredith Vickers (Charlize Theron), Captain Janek (Idris Elba), among others. Everyone, except for David, hibernates in cryogenic sleep until the ship reaches the target, which happens in 2093. Delighted at the discovery of a new world and the possibility of revealing the secret of the origin of life on Earth, Elizabeth and Charlie do not realize that the place is also quite dangerous.
