The 1982 Rick Derringer Rock Show was a star-studded festival, with performances from Karla DeVito, Ted Nugent, Southside Johnny, Carmine Appice and Tim Bogart all taking center stage. This is an amazing show that oozes testosterone and energy and is highlighted by so many adrenaline-packed moments (DeVito's "Is This a Cool World, or What?", Nugent's "Cat Scratch Fever", "Oh, Carol", "Rock & Roll, Hoochie Koo" )! And Derringer's own band is excellent - guitarist Alan Merrill sparred with Rick Derringer himself on "Easy Action". But it was the interaction with the guests that made the evening so dramatic and such a powerful disc, while the sound quality was poor enough to really appreciate the album.
