Design and Simulation of Road Drainage Systems Using SewerGEMS and Integrated with Infoworks ICM

What you'll learn
Understand the fundamentals of road surface drainage systems, including runoff generation, inlet capture, and conveyance using 1D modeling concepts
Build a complete 1D road surface drainage network in SewerGEMS, including catchments, inlets, conduits, junctions, and outfalls.
Apply appropriate rainfall data and hydrologic methods to estimate surface runoff for urban road drainage analysis.
Integrate SewerGEMS drainage models with InfoWorks ICM, enabling advanced urban drainage and flood assessment workflows.

Requirements
Basic understanding of civil or water engineering concepts such as drainage, flow, and pipelines is helpful but not mandatory.
Familiarity with basic computer operations (file handling, installing software, navigating Windows) is required.
No prior experience with SewerGEMS or InfoWorks ICM is required — the course starts from the fundamentals and progresses step by step.
A Windows-based computer capable of running hydraulic modeling software (SewerGEMS / InfoWorks ICM).
