Robin Hobb, ou Megan Lindholm, de son vrai nom Margaret Astrid Lindholm Ogden, est une écrivaine américaine de fantasy et nouvelliste.
Née en Californie, elle quitte cet État pour partir vivre à Fairbanks, en Alaska, à l'âge de dix ans. Elle a étudié au lycée Austin E. Lathrop.
Diplômée de l'Université de Denver, elle s'installe en Alaska où elle épouse à l'age de dix-huit ans un pêcheur, Fred Ogden. Mère de quatre enfants, elle a vécu à l'île Kodiak.
