Saison 1
Couvrant quatre décennies, le récit débute par la disparition choquante de Jean McConville, une veuve mère de dix enfants qui a été enlevée chez elle en 1972 et qui n'a jamais été revue vivante. Tout en racontant l'histoire de plusieurs membres de l'IRA, l'Armée républicaine irlandaise, la série explore les extrêmes auxquels certaines personnes sont prêtes à se livrer au nom de leurs convictions, la manière dont une société profondément divisée peut soudainement basculer dans un conflit armé, les conséquences du choix de la violence pour les gens impliqués et le prix à payer émotionnel et psychologique du silence.
