Screaming Mechanical Brain это metal/electropunk группа, базирующаяся в области городов - побратимов Миннесоты. Их особый стиль включает элементы хэви-метала, хардкора, электропанка а порой даже «цирковую музыку» Группе удалось стать культовой не только в их родном городе, но и в других областях по всей стране после их тура с популярными индастриал-электропанк-рокерами Mindless Self Indulgence весной 2005. Этот тур был в поддержку их альбома «The Process of Assimilation».

Их популярность является результатом многих лет оттачивания звучания и имиджа, что так же повлекло изменение названия группы в 2005 году с Screaming Monkey Boner на Screaming Mechanical Brain. В июне 2006 группа выпустила следующий после «The Process of Assimilation» альбом, названный«There Is No God in Space». В мае 2008 года вышел мини альбом «In Defiance Of Science» включающий 5 новых треков.
