Page Wats, stagemom and daughter of royalty is the mother of Emma Wats, a nine-year-old girl who stars in the fictional TV show The Clan. While rushing home from running errands, Page sends Emma’s instructor a text message while driving. Distracted, a truck hits their car, Page is ejected through the windshield and is killed upon impact, and Emma is ejected also. Emma survives, but is severely and permanently brain damaged from the accident. Now orphaned, Emma is sent to live with her aunt Whitney to try and start over. This book should teach kids and adults that no matter the distance seatbelts should be worn. Another lesson is that you should never text while driving. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I do.
