NOTES:
This is The Many Faces of Go, a program which will enable you to play go against
your computer, record games, play online, solve go problems, analyse famous
games and so on.
Although bearing a copyright 5 years advanced from the last version there is not
too much in v11 that is new- merely a few helpful things that were badly needed
in the last version. In all it feels more like a good patch than a whole new
version.
The most obvious changes are:
1) that you can now play go on the internet in the
program itself. (In the last version you had to install a shareware client
that was bundled with Many Faces).
2) There is sound for stone clicks and other events. One welcome feature of this
is that you get a sound effect instead of an alert box you have to cancel when
you attempt to make an illegal move.
3) The program plays better. We at Team Lemur used to lose by 50 moku playing
level 1 with no handicap (yeah, we suck). Now we lose by 90 moku! Progress!
4) The "please don't mess up the stone graphics in XP" patch is part of the
code by default.
5) You can play go as small as 7x7, and now you can play even board sizes.
(Blasphemy!).
6) You can rotate the board. (Note, in 90 degree steps- no flashy direct3d
stuff here!)
There are other changes but we don't care about them. If you do- good! You
just got them for free!
As this is a small file, but specialist interest, please keep it shared for
as long as possible on the p2p network you got it from. We go players need
to stick together!
