Plot:
In this charming film based on the popular L.Frank Baum stories, Dorothy and her dog Toto are caught in a tornado's path and somehow end up in the land of Oz. Here she meets some memorable friends and foes in her journey to meet the Wizard of Oz who everyone says can help her return home and possibly grant her new friends their goals of a brain, heart and courage.

Trama:
Dorothy Gale (Judy Garland) è una ragazzina che vive da sola e con il suo cane una fattoria del Kansas. La piccola possiede un cagnolino, chiamato Toto, che, per l’ennesima volta, ha combinato un guaio: ha infatti inseguito il gatto della sig.ra Gulch, una riccona della zona, all’interno del suo giardino e, non appena questa ha cercato di acchiapparlo, lui le ha morso una gamba, riuscendo però a fuggire dalle grinfie della megera grazie all’aiuto della padroncina .

Résumé:
Dorothy Gale, une jeune orpheline, est élevée dans une ferme du Kansas tenue par sa tante et son oncle. Son chien Toto étant persécuté par la méchante Almira Gulch, Dorothy demande aux trois ouvriers de la ferme de le protéger. Cependant personne ne semble prendre au sérieux les craintes de la jeune fille. Sa tante Em lui reproche son imagination et lui demande de trouver sa place dans un monde sans problème.
