The American band's only album, "Trials and Tribulations," attracted the attention of Vanguard Records, who signed them to a contract with Bob Scherl, who hired him as producer. Most of the album's just over a dozen tracks were written by the Wilf brothers. Two cover versions of Bob Dylan compositions, "Please Mrs. Henry" and "Open the Door, Homer" (the latter originally titled "Thunderclap Newman"), were later recorded by Bob Dylan & The Band and included on their 1975 album, "Basement Tapes." Another song, "Stones That I Throw," is a nod to Robbie Robertson. The song was originally recorded by Levon Helm and The Hawks under the name "The Stones I Throw Will Free All Men." Another quirky connection is that John Wilf wrote and produced the soundtrack for the film End of the Line, which starred Levon Helm and The Band in 1987
