Back Street Girls has a cheap, PPT-like image style throughout​. The production team tried to hide their situation of underfunding, and yet chose a bad solution by adding tons of fancy VFXs: fast-moving lines, high-strength white noise, and screen VFXs in the flashbacks. None of these are trivial to deal with. The heavy noise consumes a lot of file size in the original sources, so some scenes also show artifacts as a result of lacking bitrate. Given these characteristics, we used relatively strong de-noising and took appropriate measures to fix those bitrate-lacking scenes. We then adjusted encoding parameters to handle the high dynamic range. Finally, a mild sharpening was applied in order to improve the viewing experience.
