Description : A project was assigned for an Operating Systems class in
which we had to create some application that handled
operating system duties. My group chose to create a Linux
task management application, but none of us had any GUI
experience in Linux. Over the course of the next few days I
created these videos to show everyone a way to do it so that
we could work independently. The test project is a simple GUI
calculator that performs basic arithmetic. These videos start
with nothing but a blank text document and ends with a fully
functional calculator. Package and installation videos are
also included. If you?re not a hard core coder these videos
will bore you to tears! But there is some great information
in there.

WiBit was a website used by college students (and one professor) from Towson
University in Baltimore, Maryland as a repository for learning materials. The
site creators were former Computer Science and Computer Security students,
Kevin Willett and Bryan Stouffer. The first WiBit Tutorials were created by
Kevin as a study aid for himself in late 2003. Over the following years Kevin
and Bryan decided to create a few tutorials and give themselves and their
fellow students a place to view and use them. Some were used as presentation
aids and students teaching students seminars. Over 30 tutorials were created!
The WiBit Tutorials served themselves well! All the students involved in the
project became professionals in their field of study. The creators Kevin and
Bryan currently develop medical software. Others are working for great
companies such as Bowing and Lockheed Martin. Since college the need to
create tutorials has died down, but who knows what the future holds!
